Dr. Mathieu Lavigne (co-PI), a Group Leader (Researcher C) in FORTH-IMBB and the current Head of the IMBB-Genomics since 2021. He applies various omics protocols as well as bioinformatics analyses/simulations to decipher gene regulation. He possesses strong expertise, including recent accomplishments in single-cell genomic technologies in mammalian cells and especially at the level of bioinformatics analysis. He co-created and leads the IMBB-HIBU (Horizontal Bioinformatics Unit), a recent internal effort to share knowledge and guide young scientists in their bioinformatics quests.

Freddy Monteiro is the manager of the IRB Functional Genomics Core Facility (IRB-FGCF) will provide technical support, training, and access to its R&D unit for the development of single-cell assays. The facility personnel will guide SCENTINEL scientists in library pool preparation for sequencing on Illumina instruments. Dr. Freddy Monteiro and IRB FGCF personnel will provide expertise transfer and training to IMBB-FORTH Genomics Facility personnel and participate in further discussions during the implementation of the SCENTINEL activities, as required.

Prof. Mannervik (co-PI) is Deputy Head of Department in the Dept. of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute, with a long-standing interest in gene transcription and chromatin regulation. His mechanistic studies of transcriptional regulation recognize how specific cell states are established and epigenetically maintained, and how their misregulation leads to disease. He uses Drosophila to dissect these mechanisms in vivo by a set of tools that are not readily available elsewhere and combines them with genomic approaches such as PRO-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&Tag and ATAC-seq. In this consortium, Prof. Mannervik will develop single cell ATAC-seq and CUT&Tag protocols for Drosophila tissues together with Dr. Giangrande at the IGBMC.

Dr. Camille Stephan-Otto Attolini (scentinel, co-PI), has been the manager of the Biostatistics/Bioinformatics Unit at IRB Barcelona for the past 8 years. Her background in pure mathematics, bioinformatics and statistics, and her robust and innovative leadership has resulted in groundbreaking collaborations and publications. She will oversee the creation and FAIR implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for the consortium datasets and analyses pipelines.
