Angela Giangrande (co-PI) is a Directeur de recherché class 1 since 2007 (DR1 CNRS). She directs the IGBMC team ‘Immune and neural development’ and the Laboratoire International Associé CNRS-Unistra CALIM with the National Center for Biological Sciences in Bangalore, India. She is an expert on the genetics/biology of immune cells within and outside of the Drosophila brain, the glial cells and the hemocytes, respectively. Her team has successfully used high-throughpu technologies in transcriptomics/epigenetics and acquired the necessary biocomputational skills to produce the first bulk and single cell Atlas of the fly hemocytes in homeostasis and upon immune challenge. In 2024, she was elected EMBO member. In the context of this network, she will analyze the interaction between brain tumors and the immune system.
